  • Do you host year round?  
    Our peak season is May through October, however we do host some additional weddings, events and parties in the off-peak months for smaller groups of up to 90 guests.

  • Can we tour the property?  
    Yes, of course. Please contact us to arrange a time,  where a member of our Events Team will walk you around the property and answer any questions you may have.  
     
  • Do you have a changing room?
    In a separate wing of the BARN, we have two beautifully decorated dressing rooms, set up with lounge chairs, dressing tables, floor standing mirrors and most of what you would require to get ready for your event. They also make wonderful backdrops for your "getting ready" photos
     
  • Are there any catering prep rooms in the BARN?
    Yes, there are two rooms available to caterers for their preparations, with a separate side entrance, away from your guests. They have a 3 compartment commercial sink and prep surfaces, an ice maker and warming trays.
     
  • Can our caterer use your organic produce for our event?
    Yes, our produce is unparalleled and we can work with you and your caterer as you design your menu. At Liberty Farms a  full array of certified organic vegetables and flowers are grown.  We have a deep respect for the soil, the water, the air, the vegetables and flowers.  Each vegetable and each flower has a delicious vibrancy and a beauty that we are happy to share with you for your event. Our head farmer, would be happy to discuss this further with your chosen caterer. 
     
  • Do you have a list of recommended vendors?
    Yes, when you book your event at The BARN at Liberty Farms, we will provide you with a comprehensive list - including caterers, local lodgings, wedding planners, florists, rentals, photographers and videographers, photo booths, bands, DJs and soloists, officiants, hair & make-up, insurance, lighting, transportation, valet parking, nannies and cakes etc
     
  • Do you offer lodging?
    The BARN at Liberty farms offers our couples the chance to rent SiloView Farmhouse, a four bedroom completely newly renovated house, owned by Liberty Farms, just over a mile from the BARN. Collective Hudson Valley, a luxury retreat set on Liberty farms offers further fully serviced accommodations. There are also some wonderful local lodging options in the area, from Hotels, B&Bs, house rentals and Airbnb accommodations.  These details will be provided on the Vendor List.
     
  • What are the minimum and maximum number of guests?  
    There is no minimum, but the maximum for an indoor reception is 150. This number is based on the capacity of our restrooms.  The BARN can accommodate a reception of up to 180 indoors, but any event with over 150 guests is required to rent a small restroom trailer which can be placed at the back of the barn.
     
  • Do you host more than one event or reception at a time? 
    We do not host more than one event at the property at a time.
     
  • Is the BARN air conditioned?  
    Yes, the BARN now features air conditioning, although the ventilation in the barn is such that it generally remains fairly cool. 
     
  • Is the BARN Heated?
    Yes, the barn has heating, and also our commercial patio heaters can be used.
     
  • May we have a DJ or band?
    Yes, but music, with the exception of music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, must be played inside the barn.
     
  • Are candles allowed?
    No open flamed candles are permitted inside the barn, but you can use the battery operated flameless candles. Click here for ideas on using flameless candles.
     
  • Do you have tables and chairs?
    Yes, we have sufficient tables and chairs to host a reception for 150 guests.  There is the choice of 8ft rectangular banqueting tables  or 60inch round banqueting tables - both need linens. Our chairs are folding wooden with pads in a natural color. We recommend our clients rent chairs or benches for the ceremony, but it is possible to use our chairs for both and arrange them to be moved from ceremony to reception during cocktail hour for a small moving fee.
     
  • Can we have a tented reception?
    Yes, it is possible to have your reception in a tent on one of the surrounding paddocks/fields, but your dancing and band or DJ must be housed inside the BARN.
     
  • What happens if it rains?
    If you plan an outdoor ceremony at The BARN, it is possible to have a tent on reserve by one of our recommended rental companies, and decide a few days prior to your event if you wish to have it delivered.  Generally, reserving a tent is 50% of the cost of the tent.
     
  • What Parking do you have at The BARN
    We have parking for up to 50 cars (please see the parking area in the map) - we recommend, however, that a bus service, be hired to shuttle guests from their accommodations to The BARN at Liberty Farms for your guest's safety and convenience.
     
  • What type of decorations can be brought in and used at the BARN?
    These are the items not permitted at the BARN - Open flames of any kind inside the barn; glitter, table glitter or confetti; oil lamps, fireworks, sparklers or helium balloons;  only existing wall plugs may be used and no re-wiring for any reason may be done. Additionally, no silk flowers or rice may be thrown.  No nails added to the barn - they are a few existing nails already in various locations in the BARN.  Some decorations that are frequently added/used - bistro lights in the wings or outdoors, hanging garlands from the chandeliers, lamps and pendant lighting in the stalls, hay bales seating, sofas, rugs, plants, signage, pipe and drape etc.
     
  • What access do we have to the venue prior to our event?
    If you have booked a weekend wedding - you have access to the BARN on the previous day to drop-off items, set-up and decorate and possibly have a rehearsal ceremony between 3pm and 7pm.
     
  • Do you provide linens and tableware?
    No - those items are to be rented - we can provide you the details of a number of great local rental companies for you to choose exactly the items you would like at your event.
     
  • Do you have separate seating for the ceremony.
    For 2019 events we will be offering separate seating for your ceremony - details to be provided soon.
